E-learning
The theory course from home, at your own pace, on officially accredited material.
The 25,000 Ft subsidy
The subsidy is available to anyone who
- passed the theory exam for a category B licence after 1 July 2018 and was under 20 on the day of the exam, or
- was over 20 and, on the day of the exam, was receiving maternity benefit, childcare benefit or childcare allowance.
In both cases the subsidy must not have been claimed before.
About e-learning
A web-based distance learning method made up of the course material and the system that serves it. Interactive animations, multimedia and situational exercises help the material stick.
The theory course covers three subjects: highway code, driving theory, and vehicle construction and operation. In the e-learning material these are taught together rather than as separate blocks.
Why it works
- Not tied to a time or a place: it works anywhere with an internet connection.
- You set the pace, and you can stop and pick up again whenever you like.
- Interactive: real situations, simulations, and tests marked as you go.
- No textbooks needed, the material is delivered digitally.
- Once you finish the material you can keep practising the tests until the exam, within your remaining time.
The e-Titán system
It identifies you by a personal access code and stores your progress and test results. It tracks the order of the chapters and the conditions for moving on, such as passing a chapter test before starting the next one.
When you complete the course the system issues the electronic course certificate and sends it to the authority automatically. That certificate is what lets you sit the exam.
What you need
A computer, tablet or phone with an internet connection and an up-to-date browser. Nothing to install. A larger screen is more comfortable for long sessions, but the material works on a phone too.
Which categories it covers
Accredited e-learning is currently available for AM, A1, A2, A, B, BE, B125 (A1 with a B licence), C, CE, D, D1 and T, and for the GKI vocational course.
The legal background
Act I of 1988, Government Decree 179/2011 (IX. 2.) and GKM Decree 24/2005 together allow driving schools to use accredited digital material and closed distance learning systems.
